More about what I do

Play is the natural language of children; research shows it is a developmentally appropriate method of treatment and how they process their understanding of the world, making it a powerful therapeutic tool to explore and make sense of difficult situations or traumatic experiences to promote healing. Play is empowering, giving children a sense of control, when they may often feel out of control. Through play children gain insight into their thoughts and behaviors, and we help them brainstorm ways to cope and regulate their emotions. Children don't come with a manual. I can help you explore parenting styles, methods of discipline, limit setting, attachment, and effective styles of communication. I also help parents with issues related to loss, attachment, birth trauma, and postpartum depression or anxiety.

Brainspotting works with the deep brain and the body through its direct access to the autonomic and limbic systems within the body’s central nervous system. It is a physiological tool/treatment which has profound psychological, emotional, and physical consequences. It gives us a tool within a deeply attuned clinical relationship to neurobiologically locate, focus, process, and release experiences and symptoms that are typically out of reach of the conscious mind and its cognitive and language capacity.
